The rough Crow

Just one more quick post on the previous trip, I promise. This is the Crowbar & Bryggeri, a microbrewery and bar at Torggata 32 in downtown Oslo.

We popped in thanks to a local tip and were most pleased. The rough, industrial feel of the space is completed with nicely worn-out reclaimed furniture. I must admit I am a big fan of this design trend.

However, the interior was a bit too naked for my taste – the bookshelves in the little dining-room-type space were crying for some vintage items, for example – but the atmosphere was just right, relaxed and cosy.

There is a bar on the ground floor serving beers from around the world, in addition to those of their own Crow brand. Should you be in need of some snacks there is a kitchen counter on the first floor where you can order some pub-style finger food, such as kebabs and chips. We had some and were not disappointed.

This is just the kind of an unpretentious place to have a drink with your friends any time of the year or to drop by before or after any kind of an event really. Despite the title of the establishment being spelled without a space, this bar is nothing about crowbars, sledgehammers or other threatening tools but all about easy-going relaxation.

  1. Kerrassaan viehättävä paikka, olen näistä kiinnostunut, sillä meillä oli viime kesänä oma pikku kahvila. Mukavaa puuhaa, tosin aika vipinää.

Poikani tapaa aina matkoilla hakeutua kontaktiensa suosittelemiin paikkoihin. Olemme itse laiskempia etsiskelemään, mutta ainakin tällä matkalla kiertely kannatti!

  2. Those book shelves do look a bit empty! It looks a good place to enjoy a drink and socialise. Sarah x

    1. My son is a natural in finding great places. He always knows whom to ask for tips, which sometimes leads to a lot of walking but you are rewarded in the end.
