Still waiting

With the exception of a few delightful events, June wasn’t what we had hoped for. There isn’t exactly any sign of any heat waves here as seen around most of the rest of Europe.

At midsummer, the temperature was five degrees below average, meaning some 15°C! No wonder we’ve overnighted at the cottage so far only a few times this season.

Whenever we’ve been there we’ve enjoyed not only observing the sea but also following the belated blooming of the flowering plants.

Every once in a while, it’s been quite lovely, recently even promisingly so. Let’s hope July will live up to our expectations.

  1. Oh, your photos are so very beautiful! Here in the Pacific Northwest of USA we have the very same weather - cool and wet through June and hoping July is better. This morning it is very cool and I need a sweater, but the plant life is loving it. Your cottage is in the most beautiful place and the flowers are so lovely! xx Karen

    1. We were a bit luckier as we didn't get much rainfall in June. But it doesn't look like July would be any better, I'm afraid.

  2. As usual your images are breathtaking, I hope you will get some higher temperatures soon. I love the lupins and the sunsets and how that boat is lit up by the sun. Sarah x

    1. Thank you, Sarah. Did you realise the last photo is actually twilight at sunrise?

  4. Beautiful light in all your photos. Loved your lupin shots. Some of my favourite flowers but slugs and snails always get them in the garden. Hopefully your weather is a little better now. :). B x
